Spring is a tricky season for style. We want to stuff our bulky jackets and wool sweaters into storage bins, but we must still consider the cool breeze and chilly nights that Spring brings. The days are brighter and the weather is getting warmer, but it’s still too soon to dive into swimsuit season. So what do you wear? There’s no need to invest in a whole new wardrobe for Spring (although it’s tempting). Instead, hang on to your favorite all-season pieces and transition them to your Spring look book. A few items we love wearing all year round, but style differently, are these must have pieces: A well-worn tee. During the cold months, your tees act as a base layer under thermals and sweaters, but come Spring your favorite soft tees become the statement. Slogan tees are on trend right now and vintage tees are always in style. Basic cotton dress. Once worn with tights and boots, a simple cute dress is now the easiest look to rock. We love pairing it with casual sneakers and a ball cap or sandals and a light jacket. Button down shirt. You can buy one or, better yet, borrow one from your boyfriend. Whether it’s classic white or chambray, this one piece can be styled with a mini skirt, skinny jeans, or cut off shorts for a breezy look that is great alone or layered over a tank. Favorite jeans. Jeans never go out of style or out of season so keep wearing your comfy pair. Simply trade in your rain boots for strappy sandals or ankle booties. Light coat. While the weather teeters on warm and chilly, rock a vintage denim jacket or on trend trench coat with your jeans and tee or over a feminine summer dress. Spring is a great time to flirt with a new style, that doesn’t mean you have to splurge on expensive clothes to create it. Instead, grab a fun and colorful pair of socks that make a statement with every outfit.
