Salute the Sun for Summer Solstice

Summer Solstice is June 21. What do you have planned for the longest day of the year? Will you stay up all night and witness the earliest sun beams as they peek over the horizon? Will you celebrate every second of sunshine from dawn until dusk? Will you surround yourself with friends for outside festivities? Will you be on your yoga mat saluting the sun with hundreds of others in Times Square? Whatever you do to celebrate, we hope it's filled with gratitude. While Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year and marks the beginning of Summer, it is also the day when all days after get shorter as we slowly shift to Fall then Winter. As noted in a Huffington Post article:
"Honoring the solstice can remind us just how precious each day and season is, because the truth of its passing away is also acknowledged. Gifts need to be appreciated, not taken for granted."
You'll probably see our bright feet in down dog as we flow through Sun Salutions and give thanks to each moment we get to spend in the sunshine. {don't forget a hat, water and sunscreen!}
